WHAT IS BRAIN GAIN MALAYSIA PROGRAMME?

Brain Gain Malaysia (BGM), a programme managed by Ministry of Science,Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI), was launched on 4 December 2006.

The main mission of BGM, is to fast-track Malaysia's transition to an innovation-based economy, by leveraging the talent pool of Malaysian Diaspora and/or foreign Researchers, scientist, Engineers and Technopreneurs (RSETs) residing abroad through incentive offerings for mutual benefit.


PRIORITIZED AREA

The priority industry clusters are:

• ICT (information system, software, artificial intelligence, signal processing, security system, database technology and 3D internet animation) 
   
• Biotechnology (healthcare, industrial and agriculture) 
   
• Industry (advanced material, advanced manufacturing, nanotechnology, alternative Energy, food technology and waste to wealth) 
   
• Sea to Space (oceanography, meteorology, remote sensing, marine science, aerospace and climate change) 
   
• Science and Technology Core (physical sciences, chemical sciences and environmental sciences) 
   
• Innovation (patent law, innovation policy, IP valuation, technology assesment, R&D and commercialisation management)
